Interactive Media Practice - University of Westminster

The project was put forward to help boost the brand exposure of IMP (Interactive Media Practice) Masters, as well as gaining more of a global outreach. The course is a multidisciplinary Master’s programme that is fully designed to reflect the needs of contemporary interactive media industries, bringing together creative technologies, interactivity and design practices within digital cultures with the user in mind.

The proposition of a website was discussed, a platform that will be able to show the core aspects of the master’s programme and the culture surrounding it. An agile approach was taken, as refinements had to be made based on client needs and University regulations. Through several iterations, the design and functionality varied, utilising WordPress as the main tool and modelling the design through custom CSS.

A responsive website platform was developed and designed to appeal to contemporary audiences and reflect key areas on the course, such as UI/UX design and software development. The chosen platform allowed the client to take control and update the blog going forward. The website has resulted in an increase in student recruitment from various countries to join the course, which was a vital key performance indicator.
